Iranian-born photographer and filmmaker Shirin Neshat presents Dreamers, a solo show comprising two video installations and photography at Goodman Gallery Johannesburg. The videos Roja (2016) and Sarah (2016) are part of the Dreamers trilogy and follow a central female character as she floats between fantasy and reality. The accompanying photo prints are from the artist’s new Roha series. “I have been haunted by the power of dreams for years” says Neshat. “I am fascinated by how in a state of dream, the boundaries in between madness and sanity, reality and fiction, conscious and subconscious are blurred and broken.” The exhibition is on view through 14 September 2016.
